Let EVERYTHING Praise the Lord

By Chaplain George Nix

“Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!”
Psalm 150:6

In the trees behind my apartment, birds are singing.  Many different types of birds. Some seem to keep a constant song going, others are chirping in a few bars of the song.

But I also hear trucks going by on the highway. If I’m not careful, I will start focusing on the incessant sound of tires on the pavement.  The birds don’t seem worried about the trucks going by.

They just keep on singing.

Maybe that’s the lesson God has for us this morning. Don’t be distracted. Keep your eyes on God. Keep praising Him no matter what is going on around us.  As the Psalmist reminds us, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
