“But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, before Pharaoh, before all his servants, and in all his land, and by all that mighty power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.”

- Deuteronomy 34:10-12

My wife and I visited a quaint little craft shop in Mentone, AL.  recently. One of the customers had a back pack, with a canary in a cage! I've never seen that before! You could say it was a one of a kind experience. Moses was one of a kind. He knew the LORD "face to face." Moses had an intimate relationship with the LORD. The writer of Hebrews compares Moses to Jesus:  “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.” (Hebrews 3:1-2)

The LORD said this about Moses as He rebuked Aaron and Miriam for speaking against Moses: “Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?” (Numbers 12:6-8)   Moses had a close, intimate relationship with God. Also, the Bible says that Moses gets the title of "Most Humble Man." “(Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.” Numbers 12:3)

The Amplified Bible explains this: "Now the man Moses was very humble (gentle, kind, devoid of self-righteousness), more than any man who was on the face of the earth.)"

Anyone who walks closely with the LORD has a proper perception of themselves.

Certainly Moses was one of a kind, but that doesn't stop us from drawing near to God, and having an intimate relationship with Him.  Jesus makes this possible. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2)

We have access! We can come in! The writer of Hebrews tells us we can come boldly:

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Let's strive to have a "one of a kind" relationship with God!
